Biography

Dora De  Marinis, born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, has been actively performing as soloist, in chamber music, as well as a soloist with the major Symphonic Orchestras in Argentina such as Mendoza Philharmonic Orchestra, Cuyo University Orchestra, San Juan Symphonic Orchestra, National Symphonic Orchestra of Buenos Aires, National Symphonic orchestra of Brazil, Chamber Orchestra of Chile, National Symphonic Orchestra of  Lima,Perú, Camerata Alférez Real of Colombia, Tucumán National Orchestra, Córdoba Symphonic Orchestra, Entre Ríos Symphonic Orchestra, Salta Symphonic Orchestra, etc , under  conductors such as Julio Malaval, Jorge Rotter, Luis Gorelik, Guillermo Sacarabino, Jorge Fontenla, Roberto Buffo, among others
She studied with Walter Blankenheim, Paul Badura Skoda, Monique Hass, Jürgen Uhde, in Europe where she has obtained her master degree in Piano performance; Alcides Lanza (contemporary music, in Canada) and Roberto Caamaño (argentine music) in Buenos Aires.
 Mrs. De Marinis is regularly invited to perform for the annual musical seasons of Mendoza, San Juan, Buenos Aires and San Rafael as well as other cities in Latinoamerica such as Caracas, Valencia, Rio de Janeiro, Niteroi, Florianopolis, Santiago de Chile, La Habana, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Zacatecas, Antigua, Mérida, Buga and Lima.
Dora De Marinis has also offered concerts in many cities of USA and Canada such New York, Los Angeles, Hartford, Austin, Minneapolis, Boulder, El Paso, Kansas City, Ottawa (where she performed in the famous piano of Glenn Gould), Montreal and Quebec City, as part of the activities as representing the Cultural Department of Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Mrs. De Marinis, has been awarded with  the Great Prize “Los Andes” and the First Prize “A.C.E”. for her recorded of the complete solo piano Works  by Alberto Ginastera. She also received the same prize for her recording of two CDs of “Juan José Castro, complete work for piano”.
She has recorded also the complete Works for piano by Carlos Guastavino, Susana Antón, (Irco Label) and Luis Gianneo (Marco Polo Label). She has participated in the series “Panorama of Argentine Music” under the sponsorship of the National Fund for the Arts.
She also recorded with famous Russian violinist Tatiana Tchijova latin american music  for violin and piano in Colombia.
Mrs. De Marinis received for her contributions to the dissemination, of latin american music the “Roots Award”, Mendoza, Argentina, and the “Lake Theater of Frutillar”, Chile.
Mrs. De Marinis has created and directed the master degree in Latin American Performance Music of the XX Century in the Cuyo National University; she was as well  president of the Ostinato Foundation.
Dora De Marinis conducts since 2010 the Festival “Classical music for the route of wine ” in Mendoza.
Mrs. De Marinis performs currently through USA, Canada, Latin America, Asia and Europe. She has invited for many universities and Schools of Music to offer lectures and master class on her speciality: Latin-American music around the world.
She has participates representing Argentina in the Epta Conferences in Novi Sad, Tallin, Oslo, Rodhes and Prague, always analizing and  performing music by Argentine composers like: Guastavino, Ginastera, Gianneo and Juan José Castro.
She is the only pianist in the world who has recorded the three  piano Concerti by Alberto Ginastera: Concierto Argentino (for de National  University of Cuyo), and the N° 1 and 2° Piano Concerti (recorded for Naxos).
